Co-operation for Indian village development

Jaya S Upadhyay

JVV was founded 1972 in Sweden to support and co-operate with the initiator, the teacher Jaya S Upadhyay. His vision was to establish a school inspired of Nordic folk high school and Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy, together with villagers in some poor villages in Bihar (now Jharkhand).
   Since the beginning the school has contributed to an important development for people in the surrounding villages.
